Hello all,
well starting last Saturday, I suddenly found out that all my pics produce some weird black spot . It's not anything to do with the front most piece of glass, since cleaning it many times haven't made any difference. Some pics can be seen below. I just left it aside and went for dinner, however after coming back the spot just disappeared and I thought that everything was fine. Then on Tuesday, the spot came back. ![]() |

The weirdest thing, I must say, is that it sorta moved to the right of the picture now, as with these pics. It's lined up exactly on the second horizontal line when the grid is shown on screen. I'm seriously at a lost right now, so I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this before? And should I just send it for servicing? Thanks in advance.
First pic taken at 1x, second at 12x. ![]() Again, first pic taken at 1x, second at 12x. ![]() Last edited by darel; 11th August 2006 at 10:56 AM. |

You got to send it back to Panasonic for cleaning.. Unlike DSLRs which can be cleaned easily by blowing at the sensor, don't think you will want to dismantle your FZ5

I have no idea whatsoever. Well I tried shaking my camera and a lot and resting it on the bus seat so that the vibrations would somehow dislodge it, but to no avail. Well, off to the servicing centre it shall go.

I've sent it in and they changed the whole lens unit, and the total cost with labour and all amounted to more than $500, so I doubt you'd want to send it in since your warranty is over

I just emailed Nikon about shutter replacements (if my shutter does die, touchwood!) and they quoted $220.50..unless of course some other parts fail...What was the reason for them to change the whole lens unit? |
