Yes, but slightly less blockage of CBD buildings.

Pro : more frontal view of the fireworks (so that they line up nicer and more space between them), can get the Esplanade (2 Durains into the frame when shot with a wider field of view), have a choice of whether to frame the fireworks more towards left or more towards right (see the 2 picture below compared to picture 1 posted earlier)

Cons : low-level fireworks are partially blocked by trees, Fullerton is totally blocked.

Thanks for the feedback.

Personally, I find panorama has too much negative space although it sometimes give a refreshing, breathing space view which is different from a tighter crop.

Good shots, and you thought you didn't get any.

Maybe can suggest them to launch the fireworks from the Benjamin Sheres Bridge, then the firework will appear right over esplanade and with Shenton area on left, makes a very good and nice pano for #1.

Thanks for the feedback.

I managed to get them lined up across reasonably nicely because of my location which had a slightly more frontal view than those on my right.

Those shooting much further to my right would have them stacked in closer proximity.

To my surprise, viewing on my computer instead of the camera's LCD, I've actually got a lot more shots than I originally thought.

The fireworks in my first few shots were over-exposed because of the multi-bursts and the bright core of the red ones. After that, it seems to be quite ok.

If launched from Benjamin Sheares Bridge, then traffic would be at stand still for a long period of time already. In addition, there will be logistic and security issues for the organisers.

Noted.

Last night, I was looking at the horizon line a number of times and noticed that the slanting Benjamin Sheares Bridge and the distance changes of the coast line across the river gave an illusion about what was the correct horizon. I guess I was too sleepy already.

This morning, I discovered I forgot to do median noise reduction on a few pictures (including one posted here last night and I've corrected it).

I will take another look at the horizon.

Thanks for the alert.

I didn't do any panorama. It was just normal shoot without zooming in too much.

At that kind of long distance, the field of view is very wide and gives an illusion of panorama after cropping some negative space at the top and bottom.

If there isn't any construction works going on there, then we could move much further left and probably could get the fireworks just above the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, right in between UOB/OUB and the Esplanade.

May be in the future when construction works are completed.

Don't activate NR.

NR will significantly slow down your camera processing the picture before saving the picture onto your card and you will miss many shots.

I don't know how fast your camera does NR. For mine, it takes between 10-20 seconds during which the fireworks keep firing up in the air while I can't do anything except stare at the fireworks I'm going to miss capturing. So I always off NR.
