Cool First review of the FZ50?

http://www.enet.com.cn/article/2006/...25143874.shtml

Some marginal improvements over the FZ30 (Haiz... ) but the image quality looks okay to me even at the higher ISOs!

It does seems that panasonic finally addresses the noise issue.

Can't wait for an in-depth review for this camera. I hope dpreview will compare the image quality with Fujifilm F6500/F6000 fd digicam.

Gonna be tough for me to choose which one should i "upgrade".

same as the reply i gave in other thread. if you wan to consider a prosumer cam that cost about 1k, maybe you might wan to take a look at entry level dSLR, they cost 1k+ with consumer lens. (since you looking at noise level)

Yup, i fully agree with you abt dSLR has a better noise level than prosumer.

But i'm a realistic person and don't really expect that prosumer will produce a clean image in hi-iso compared to dSLR. besides, i don't want changing lens and i prefer ultra-zooms. But with the advent of Fujifilm F30 where it can produce a clean image that can almost rival an entry-level dSLR, there's hope. For me, as long as the images are still ok in ISO800, i will be happy to grab one. Usable in ISO1600 will be a big bonus.

That's why i'm eager to find out how FZ50 will perform compared with Fuji's camera, can't wait for the review. For now, these are my two options.

yup fuji 1 of the best, but you stated you looking for ultra-zoom which fuji f30 doesn't offer. actually from panasonic trend of NR, i doubt fz50 will be near what f30 noise. i might be wrong (looking forward what the new fz can offer)
do note that dSLR oso have ultra-zoom lens like 28-300 and 18-200 =x

with your comments abt fuji being 1 of the best, u just made me feel more inclined in buying fuji f6500/f6000 fd, probably panasonic fz50's direct competitor.

anyway, gotta keep hold of myself and patiently wait for the review of both cameras.

cheers!!!

yes fuji sensor is one of the best but you still have to look at how f6500/f6000 perform. not all camera are made equal
