    Default To all professional wedding photographers: Sharing my thoughts.

    Hi guys,

    As alot of you know, I just started off full-time doing wedding shoots. So financially, its difficult to fork out a huge some for advertising. I am sure alot of you find advertising on wedding forums(you know which one) are quite expensive.

    So I am thinking is it possible or legal set up a website that just have our webby's link (a group of photographers) and pool a sum of money to do the advertisement on these wedding forums. So when a potential customer click on the link from the forum, it'll link to this website we set up with the hyperlinks to our own website.

    Is it legal to do a thing like that?

    Correct me if I am wrong, my maths sucked. Let say, 10 photographers pooled $6k, each pays $600. we should be able to have this website advertised to quite afew of those online wedding forums. If there's excess $$, we maybe can put a print ad in one of those wedding magazine.

    A penny for your thoughts.

    it is interesting indeed!

    i've talked with one of the forums before and if that discussion is anything to go by, it's unlikely that this will work. But maybe we can think of a way to workaround

    anyway, i reckon, only if there is ppl willing to startup a new 'company' entity of several photographers, then you might be able to pull it off...

    and of course, that site i guess would be quite massive, cos it would have portfolio of several photographers.

    An idea would be...

    [link from bridal]
    -->
    [main page of bridal alliance]
    [showcase random portfolio pics of all photographers]
    ...
    ...
    [portfolio page of individual photographers]
    -->
    [portfolio of photograper A]
    --> hyper link to photographer A personal site

    of course.. that group would have individual email for them, for eg, xxx@fotoalliance.com

    then it will sound like a 'company' with many photographers. rather than a link page, which most business minded ppl sure reject.

    Just put your feet into anyone of the portals owner's shoes, will you accept the photographers pool together for advertising instead they come to you individually?

    Not too bad an idea. Is it going to be hard finding 10 photographers in the first place?

    back to the serious side. I don't think it's illegal as all 10 photogs have chipped in a share to start this company and is now a stakeholder in the company, but the accounting part will be a bit messy because you now have 10 photogs in a company behaving as an individual.

    same like law firms lor...

    simplest mathematics would be renewal yearly.

    xxx /10 then distribute evenly even thou some earn more some earn less.

    then if the next year, anybody else wanna join, then each pay lesser, if anybody want out, then each will fork out more the following year.

    but of course, main should be at least 2 - 5 person... the rest can come & go...

    (how come like i starting tis business... )
