I was using an EOS 1D...

...NOT!

I used AI Servo, continuous shooting mode, centre focusing point on, panned the movement, and shot like there was no tomorrow. Then choose the one or two good ones at home.

I went to try last weekend and almost vomit my dinner after doing all the somersault up there...

How did you get the right focus on your children? Did you have to press half-shutter or anything? Is this kind of shots possible with a consumer dc?

how does this AI Servo work?

AI Servo uses predictive autofocus - tracks a moving object and predicts where the autofocus should be at the time you press the shutter button.

I'm afraid that consumer dc's will probably not allow you to take this type of shots, no matter how good a photographer you are.

Question

I like the shots, but I think a bit dark.

And lately we've been having cloudy days. And for shots like this when the shutter needs to be fast how else can we brighten up the image? Larger Aperture? Or exposure compensation?
