    Default First Sunrise of 2003

Unfortunately, it was cloudy and I don't get the golden orb of the rising sun. I was expecting something better.

Surprised to see a number of other photogs there as well, didn't ask them if they are from ClubSNAP. 1 Chinese National couple using an Oly 2100 (I think), a girl using a G3, a guy using a G1, another guy using a Fuji, a friend with me has a EOS 300 + Oly 5050.

Hehheh. It's a sunrise cum moonset all in one. Pity that there's just too many clouds.

Shot is taken from Bedok Jetty.

good stuff, love the sun shots. Have to agree, a vertical shot may turn out pleasent too.

What settings did you use for the sun shots?

Can't remember man. The disadvantage of not having EXIF info at your disposal. I only remember I shot all at f/8, manual mode, with exposure ranging from several seconds to 1/250 or so. Metered an area in the sky which I thought was middle grey then bracketed around it.

No problem. I guess sunsets are easier to do (not technically) as you don't have to wake up in the wee hours.

i guess there is really just 2 options: wake up at about 4-5 am, or spend the night...either one seems interesting..

By the way, see you at SEED, am a newcomer, so will like to meet up with the original folks who found this community, just to attach a face to the names

Agree with you that the sky is too cloudy...

So will try to shoot again and show us the difference?

Dunno man, getting up that early, and getting someone who drives to wake up that early is not exactly easy.
