what is this lens filter for?
must one need to have it in marco photography?
    how much does it cost?

every camera has its minimum focusing distance . the closeup filter is to reduce the minimum focusing distance , thus , the object will look bigger.

A +4 filter is not a must when you shoot macro, however it is useful when your subject is small and you're using a non macro lens.

Cost depends on the thread size of the filter. A 58mm hoya +4 should cost less than $20.

This filter is basically similar to a magnifying glass.

Isit really similar to magnifying glass? I thought it is only allows you to go nearer which of cos will cause the subject the be bigger.
