Default newbie brahminy kite shot

hi everyone! mynewbie brahminy kite shot, taken at the Jurong Bird Park. camera used was an IXUS 750. still cant get the hang of taking motion photos. need serious help! any tips?

Skills aside, I think for a start you need something better than a IXUS 750 to shoot this kind of shots, where the subject is moving so rapidly towards you Perhaps a dslr with a reasonable zoom lens.

If you can set your IXUS to ISO 400, Shutter Speed of 1/1000 minimum
then you can try. you need to sit in the front row and wait for
the bird to fly above your head.. You may want to try in the morning
where the sun will shine from the right, when the bird turns you can
get it with good sunlight.

thank u for the help!! how do i minimise noise when using iso400? my shots seem to be noisy when iso400 is used

One of the reasons why DSLR is recommended because the sensor in P&S cameras are much smaller as compared to those in DSLR. Compare both type of cameras at ISO400, those images shot with P&S cameras will tend to have more noise. However, there are noise reduction software in the market like Noise Ninja ( http://www.picturecode.com/ )
and Neat Image ( http://www.neatimage.com/ ) to reduce noise. Only you can decide if it is worth to get them.
