    Default Taking Photos at NDP

    Hi All,

Advice appreciated. Have got tickets to the NDP and was wondering whether I can bring my SLR into the stadium?

    Thanks.

Last time I was at NDP was when I was in NS, almost 20 years ago, so don't know how it's like now. I have been to other big events and sporting events in other countries, and some of them have this thing about bringing SLRs in, some sort of conflict with the pros, and they only allow point and shoot type cameras for the general audience. Some will only let you bring an SLR in if you have a pass. That's why I'm asking, don't want to go all the way there and be told that I cna't bring the camera in.

Thanks to all for your comments.

ask them if they think your camera can snipe dead the MP or GOH? if cannot, no reason why you can't go in since it's a FREE event.

Take a look at the many photos posted in ClubSnap. All were taken in the stadium.
There are many photographers with full-gear. All you need to do is to let your bag be scanned at the gate.

U'll be surprised at the apparent idiocy.

An SLR can be 'transformed' into a rifle but a small compact PnS cannot be converted into a gun.

I'm not sure if those guys know if bombs and guns can be integrated into things as small and innocent as a pen or a watch.

Errr... think you guys misunderstood me, I never said that had that regulation at the NDP, I said that some events OVERSEAS that I have attended had that regulation.

then we should tell them, "sir, if you think my camera is dangerous, i would like to request that you leave the stadium immediately. i feel that the presence of your sidearm is a serious thread to everyone"..
