Hi there,

Glad to see that you're moving into coffee-table style of presentation.

There're a few comments which I would like to offer, though it's still your style and the satisfaction of your client which are the most important at e end of e day.

Hope you can take it with an open heart.

1. The whole layout of the album is too congested. Too many photos. Seriously, if the couple want THAT many photo in the album, printing 4Rs for them might be a better option. (I just need to take a DEEP breath after viewing the 20pgs)

2. Be critical of the photos you wish to include in the album.

3. Post-processing is an important step, esp dealing with skin-tones under different lighting condition.

4. B/W images lack impact. Do not simply convert a photo into b/w for the sake of doing it. Need to spend more effort. Lacks depth and dynamism.

5. Be careful of your layout. (Refer pg3&4) I've a feeling that one of the sister's head is gonna get split.

Sometimes, less is actually more. Ask yourself what style of presentation you wish to sell and most importantly, what your client want.

Keep shooting!
Jon

Great observation... I'd have to agree with Jon... i can see that a lot of effort is put into the layouts and great work on that but really, lesser is better here, I'm afraid.

We need the strong images to stand on its own and not be "diluted" by the average ones. By including seemingly "important" shots that are not strong, you are actually averaging out the effect and impact of your stronger pics. One way to get around this is to be very concious when shooting important moments, like unveiling the bride and such, and make those your stronger pics...

I have also noticed that you have a number of similar shots, example the shots of the champagne glasses at the banquet hall, i think its better if you pick just the better of the two or the best of the lot.

Cheers

As a person who don't know much about wedding shoots, I would say I like these series very much... I think most people (excluding photographers) would like to see lots and lots of pictures in a single album...

I would very much wish to learn more about wedding photography so that I can do up a portfolio for my friend's upcoming wedding as a gift to him... (haven't receive the "pink bomb" yet)

You can select more "mood shot" and flush more full pages.
Creates the mood and grand look of a book instead of an album.
With lower cost in printing, producing a 40pp "Coffee Table Book" is affordable now.
The problem is that photogs are struggling to design and layout 40pp.

We're beginning to see better standard in design and layout these days.
Bet the benchmark had been raised and competition toughen.

Good work.

Hi,
I was just wondering if you could tell me what is the canvas size that you used.

And also, where do you send it for printing and binding into a book? (Maybe can tell me the estimates for the cost too?

Thanks
