Default Experimental Comic Book Style

Inspired by the upcoming movie, A Scanner Darkly, I tried to apply the same look to a wedding photo. It's not meant for client submission, just wanted to create a little piece of pop art, tell me what you guys think!

not so sure about A Scanner Darkly. The effect is more like pencil-sketch art than a pop art.
1 nitpick is the positioning of the word "I do".

hey, submit it to the client. about time to change the presentation of the wedding album.

Yeah it's not very publicised in Singapore, have no idea when it'll come! It's basically following in the vertigo style of Sin City, the whole film is done in a pencil sketch style. You can check out the official trailer at http://wip.warnerbros.com/ascannerdarkly/

pardon me, i can't help feeling that there is something "dark" about this image.
Both the guy's hands are clasping one of the girl's hand. The girl's hand with the wedding ring is not in contact, with the clenched fist with all the veins showing.... makes a disturbing image.

Will work as a movie poster/comic book cover or even CD album... but for a wedding shot... a little too dark and extreme.

just my newbie comment

Thanks for the comments! It's interesting to see it from your perspective. 'Disturbing' and 'dark' is a great motif as it is not meant to be a wedding shot like I mentioned earlier.

Cheers,
Actually, I find this one more comic book look than the original posted. It may be difficult to see but it gives a very comic book feel. Care to share how u did it?

I did I high pass filter and then did a threshold on it....

so it becomes more of a line art picture.

Thanks for all the input guys! Guess everyone has different perceptions of what comics should look like.

Anyway I felt that the small size doesn't do justice to the photo at all, you guys can check out a larger one at http://www.jonkeng.com/albums/experi...owallpaper.jpg

It does remind me of some comics I read when I was younger.
I like it!

Looking at the title, I thought you made the layout of the pictures in a comic book style...
