Test result of S602 with Raynox DCR-6600 Pro Wideangle Lens

well, i got this Raynox DCR-6600 Pro quite some time already, but quite disappointing on the vignetting, till i got the adapter tube (one 55-52 and one 53-52 for DCR-6600) from taiwan. no post-processing for the pics, only resized.

wide end with wideangle lens, no vignetting! ^_^ the flare at the bottom should be due to the long exposured under electric light... >_<

backview of the wideangle, note that the adapter tube (written raynox DCR-6600...) is modified one from Taiwan, which is shorter than the original one.

frontview of the wideangle, btw, anyone know is there any 72mm thread cir polarizer can work with wideangle?

in summary, this wideangle lens is superb for s602, especially with modified tube, no vignetting, what else i can say?

Looks good

Distortion is pretty minimal and there doesn't seem to have any CA. "magnification" is also as claimed. Also the size is pretty small and you don't need to engage the macro mode when you take pics (I need to do so for my Sony wide-angle converter). Good buy for you!

btw, saw this in Hong Kong and was quoted ~HK$980 for it. Could probably bargain down a bit.

Why should he do MO if he has already bought it?!

Chenwei, what's the adapter tube you are talking abt that you bought from Taiwan and how izit different from the 55-52mm tube that most pple are using?

in fact i wish to help n get MO but considered how to transfer such big amount money then i headache... also dunno how lower the price i can get... i got mine at around $198 (~HK 889, TWD4000) without the shipping charge.

the adapter tube is from a guy from taiwan, his website is here:

but the adapter is S$45 including a tube for Raynox DCR-6600, not so cheap i feel. compared to the one selling in s'pore, the end thread (52mm) is bigger and the adapter is shorter. u can see the lens just a bit bit inside the adapter, where the one in s'pore is more inside.

If you looking for Polariser for use with WA, you need to get those slim type. Or you can choose to use a 72-77 step-up ring and use a 77mm polariser. Remember to test it out 1st b4 getting.
