Default FX7 Battery Model

Hi Fellows,

I was shopping around for an extra battery for my gf's FX7 (The battery life of the FX7 is really poor).

I went to AP at SLS and bought one battery from them. The sales person said this was it. I trusted him and walked out. Luckily I had her camera with me and did a quick check. The battery did not fit. So I went back to AP and told the fellow. The fellow changed a new battery, saying this is the one for the FX7.

However I noticed that on the 3rd party battery,it states "Replace NP 40" instead of the model of the original lumix battery. there was only a slight cosmetic difference. i put the battery in her camera and the camera worked.

It worked all the way for the rest of the journey home. I did a simple search on Google and Eastgear and found out that NP 40 is a Casio Exlim or Fuji camera battery!

What should i do? Both batteries are at 3.7v. Original is 710mah, 3rd Party is 1150mah. The camera bottom case states 4.7v.

Will there be any adverse effect in terms of usage? Should i go back and change again or stick to the NP 40?

its just a mistake... ur camera will not have any problem since it able to take up to 4.7v while the batt is only 3.7v. mah just meant the capacity of the better (the more the better)

On average, I find the NP-40 battery lasts an extra 10 photos vs the original supplied one.

I get about 90 on the original one.

So far, it's better than her old original one but it isn't a leap even though the NP-40 is 1500mah and the original one is 710mah.

Slightly more than the original one. Not significant though.

i guess it's better than nothing. It is working perfectly well.
