Thread: Can we anticipate DSLR with 5000mm zoom range?

Cool Can we anticipate DSLR with 5000mm zoom range?

If electronics has improved so well that a 3.5mmX2.4mm CMOS sensor can have same noise
reduction, same ISO 1600, same dynamic range, but crop factor increased to 10X. Imagine
with a EF 500mm lens with such sensor, I can get nearly 5000mm!

IMHO, achieving low noise photo using Noise Reduction feature will not as good as photo from Low Noise sensor. Lack of detail.

True, future electronics can achieve ultra-low noise sensor.

Yeap, and lose all the beautiful depth of field and not mentioning 2.4mm lenses required to achieve wide angle shots.

Wait, wait...aren't we already doing that with our phone cameras?

then we'll see the rise of micro dSLRs that can fit in the palm of your hand..

oly dslr is 2x crop. so if you mount 1000mm f11 mirror lens, it becomes 2000mm. slap on a 2x tc, you get 4000mm f22 mirror lens, set to iso 400, still can get 1/250 shutter speed in broad daylight (sunny f16 rule). quite close to 5000mm liao right?
photography makes one sees things from all angles.
