    Default is it true?

    watched last night CSI Maimi.

is it true that people with diplomatic imunity (Mr A from Country B but staying in Country C) cannot be arrested by police (from Country C) even if they kill somebody in Country C???

heck, most TV shows and movies always has it that Govt of Country C cant do anything to a person with diplomatic imunity even if that person breaks whatever law that Country C has.

    is it true???

i think if Mr A committed a crime and if he stays inside Country B's embassy then police from Country C could not do anything to him.. but of course Country C can demand Country B to handover Mr A to them for his crime..

Last time there were little plots of Malaysian land within Singapore.

Yes, it's true. Country C can request Country B to waive diplomatic immunity in this case, and it Country B agrees, then Mr A can be prosecuted. Otherwise Country C can only kick Mr A out of their country.

If you really need to know, under the articles of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, as adopted by Singapore under the Diplomatic and Consular Relations Act, yes, diplomatic immunity is granted, but can be waived by the State which deploys the mission or consulate. Diplomatic agents in the performance of their duties, their property and their families enjoy immunity from not only criminal but even civil jurisdiction save for some exceptions. They are not subject to arrest or detention. In the case of consular officers, they can be arrested or detained pending trial for "grave crimes". The host State can declare the sending State's agents or officers persona non grata, and the sending State is obliged to wthdraw the individual.
