which is better for post processing assuming both use the same software?

is there a difference in terms of quality of pictures?

IMHO, if the same software, running on different platform/machine won't give any different in the output quality. Only speed or time to do the job may different.

But, I have no idea about the LCD on Macbook or Sony. Which one better .

My 2c worth: whichever one has bigger screen size (15"? 17"? 21"?) and screen resolution (1280x1024? 1400x1050?) will be better for image editing. Otherwise if it's too small, hard to see overall effect without scroll- scroll- scrolling.

Sony maybe wide screen one . IMHO, better for 3:2 format.

    the difference?

    the keyboard shortcuts are different
the file naming convention are different
    the user interface is different

and if you are using PS as the software of choice...

right now at this moment the Sony will be faster

both are 13.3inches and same resolution. i am just wondering how different the color will show up on the sony and mac or is this a calibrartion problem? also is there an issue with true pixels?

Both are glossy screens right? I wouldn't recommend getting glossy screens for editing. The colour accuracy isn't quite there.

The MacBook would be a better bet.

Though I would strongly recommend a MacBook Pro instead.
