cool! . . . was thinking of getting the FZ30 was a bit turned off by the noise . . . now this FZ50 looks really promising!

nah....although with the Venus 3 engine...wonder how best it can reduce the noise problem...its really a turn-off to be able to see nice colors in the morning and lousy shots above ASA200 onwards...we shall see

is it that fantastic? shots i have seen posted taken by the FZ50 are all ISO100 and the images all appear to have that dreadful 'painterly', badly smudged effect. IMO, Pansonic will fare better if they stick with a 8MP CCD with the new VenusIII.

hmmm....my opinion is....Panasonic...pls listen to yr loyal customers....ADDRESS THE NOISE ISSUES!!! why not proudly post pictures taken at higher ISOs???? Panasonic's specs are gd...but unable to use higher ISOs really puts me off
