i like the idea of using iron board as chess board
.for the 2 coppler photos, i think have motion blurr is better. since the rest of the photos is thinking people (normally static when we thinking). but the coppler is working.

Looking closely, can tell the difference between L glass and your tamron lens. The premium for the 70-200mm f2.8 is definitely worth it! |

Thank all for the comments
![]() Hi Denniskee, never though of the motion idea. I will try out next time. Hi Midicity, you are right about the canon lens. Canon L lens have better colour. Hi Leinaj, thanks for comments. Most of the senior people in China town are quite friendly (may be I am lucky). No problem with that. |

Nice.
The L does seems nicer ... like better contrast to me, though the tamron is quite nice also. Pointing that big 70-200 f2.8 at them and not getting frowns is amazing. |

Where did you hide to prevent those natural expressions from becoming angry stares? I must say the Tamron 17-50 performs better than i thought, how is the wide open/low light performance? The Sigma versions seems to be quite soft wide open...

Tamron 17-50 f2.8 is definitely worth buying. It is sharp and has a constant f2.8 through out the zoom range. It only lose to L lens in term of colour and AF speed.
"Where did you hide to prevent those natural expressions from becoming angry stares?" Did not hide myself at all. For the shots on chess game, I preset the camera settings and stand one side pretending that I am watching them playing the chess. When time is right, I bring up the camera, compose quickly, snap, and bring down the camera immediately. For longer lens is much easier to shoot without getting notice because of the working distance. "how is the wide open/low light performance?" Pic #3 was taken by the Tamron at f2.8 under shade in the late evening. It is sharp enough for me. |

You have definitely got a sharp copy of the tamron 17-50, saw some people who tested soft copies of it, just like the sigma version, some got good copies and some got soft ones... |
