I have a few queries to seek from fellow brothers regarding shutters:
+ Do you replace your shutter by count (different limit for different bodies, for example 50K limit for D70 and 150K for D bodies etc) or only when experiencing a shutter life-span end-of-life through field deterioration? + How to tell if a shutter is reaching end-of-life? + What does general servicing entails which Nikon engineers will do to help improve the life-span of an existing shutter? + During warranty period, is general service free-of-charge? + Does anyone replace his camera shutter and get the camera back on the same day from Nikon service centre? Thanks for all answers! |

- you can't tell when... tho d70 was tested up to 50k, if it is under abused it might just spoil anytime. if babied, it might last 100k+++ - i guess they just check and if any slight problem they try to solve before it become a big problem. - not sure if it is FOC - i don think its quite possible even with express service. |
