If a camera can take CF Type II, then it can take microdrives... nuff said about these...

the only complication that arise from using microdrives is... its slow, and it sucks battery... cos its a drive, it have a platter inside that small thingy which spins, so uses more battery life than a normal solid state CF.

other than that, the issues would be high altitude (not a problem if using in sg), drop & die (some can drop a few times dun die, but dun trust statistics...) heat issues...

I have a Seagate 4 GB Microdrive. No problem so far on my D70 and D200. A bit slower than CF card though.

I agree. But unless shooting beyond the onboard memory buffer can hold, single shots-wise, there is no performance lag considering the capacityrice ratio

yes the price/capacity is good
you can take lots of photos
but you might also lose lots of photos.
and on a single charge you can take less photos.

so it is up to your own preferences

just take out and put back the card and see how. if still cannot then format.
