Unhappy D70s replacement in sight??

I am planning to get D200. I was planning to hold on to my D70s for some more time. But there are increasing number of discussions about D70 replacement announcement during Photokena etc., Should I sell it now and go without camera for few months. Or prepare myself for little bit more loss.
What do you think will be the resale price of D70s with 1 or 2 mths warrenty After Nikon announces the new camera?

aiya, dun go bother about the camera bodies la..
think abt this: is the D70s serving u very well now? Is there really a need to upgrade? or is it just a want, a desire to upgrade?
for the bomb u pay to get the D200 [or wait till photokina then sell D70s to buy D90], u can easily get a 17-35, 17-55, 70-200, 28-80 !! Isnt that more important than the camera body?

Aiya, just use till body spoil then consider buy new one !! In the meantime, its lens lens lens lens lens !!

Thought you say you downgrading to PnS? Which two are you looking at now? D2X + D2XS? Or 2 * D2XS?

Seeing that Digital cameras are like computers these days.i.e. expensive to buy initially but worth next to nothing in a few of years. A D1 ($8K new in 1999 - Body only) can be had for $1000 or less today. An FM2n ($600) in 1999 is still worth $300 today.

It would be a good idea to sell off your D70s just before Photokina and use a film camera in the interim. Once the replacement is announced, you can either decide to buy the replacement or purchase a used D70s at a much lower price than what you sold it for. For the many technology zealots and "keepupwiththejones" will definately dump theirs then to buy the replacement, thus lowering the resale value of the D70s. Gone are the days where film cameras worth more used for what they sold for initially - this is the price of "progress".

Better yet, get off the "musthavethelatestandgreatest" roundabout (like some have said why worry), buy yourself a nice FM2n and a couple of non-aperture ring crippled lenses and be happy as Larry!
