Unlike film, ME is done differently, that is by merging different images rather than exposing the film many times. Easily done using software, so camera mfgs decided no point designing it into the cam. For film, it is is easier to do cos all you need is to disable film advance during MEs.

You can combine the ME images using any HDR programs, there is a plugin in Photoshop for this, but there are many other HDR programs around.

not everyone knows how to use photoshop or has the opportunity to work with photoshop. i think its still a useful feature to have in a camera although you would probably use it once in a while. think of it i dont remember using the ME feature in my film cams ever...

ME is one of the features of using film that I consider as an advantage to digital... Now that I've switched to a 30D, I miss the ME of my film FM10. True, you use it only once in awhile, but the fun and satistaction you get is undeniable.

Guess I'll have to settle for photoshop now.
