hi ppl,
from your expertise and experience...is it true that the G5 has more chances of getting purple fringing and the noise level is higher than the G3? this worries me a little ![]() cheers |

they use the same lens la.
SAME CHANCE OF purple fringing. noise level is higher in g5 than g3 because the sensor is the same size. They have to squeeze in more pixels, reducing size of pixels site and hence leading to more noise. get a G6...all this problem solved. |

CA n purple is more on the G5 due to the sensor taking in more pixels of the CA and purple edges.
G6 is not too perfect because it uses the same lens as well but much better control Read: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong3/ and http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong5 and http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong6 However, if you're using PS CS2, it is easily corrected. Best if don't have but you have got to look at the G series lens quality (top-notch and fast) and it's image quality (stellar). Last edited by davsmiths; 13th July 2006 at 09:09 PM. |

The G series is a solid performer in terms of image quality and versatility. With the RAW and external shoe support, it's awesome man. Get a G series camera and start shooting now. ![]() |
