    is it if downsize a pic or use 'save for web'..
    It will soften the pic?

    downsizing shouldn't be a problem. as long as u save in sRGB.

    sharpness is however sometimes a matter of taste, so if you have to decide if its what you want.

    sRGB is a colorspace optimised for webuse so use it

    Its always good to do sharpening of an image only when sure of output size... If downsizing alot, images can get softer...donno for other software but if in PS using bicubic or bicubic softer the image will get softer...I found that using bicubic sharper to downsize for web usually works for me...if using PS 7 and earlier, before bicubic sharper was introduced, then have to do abit of shrapening.
