Default FZ-10 lens barrel problem

Recently my FZ 10 clonked out in the middle of a shoot in the CBD area when the les barrel refuses to retract upon shutdown and the whole focus and zooming assembly within the lenses moves very slowly as if jammed and the EVF displays 'System Error' upon startup... When I shook the camera I heard loose object noises, so I thought I killed my camera

What happened after that is the strange bit, having thought that I killed my FZ 10 I went back and dumped the camera one side and began planning for a DSLR upgrade(what a great excuse to upgrade... ). So I tried something for fun, I twisted the jammed lens barrel and guess what...the camera returned to normal and unjammed itself

Anyone had any similar experiences with their FZ 10 or have any idea? Is this a documented problem with the FZ 10?

the sound cause by shaking might be cause but the OIS instead.
