Just saw on B&S. Someone even commented that it could be as low as USD1999. How come so low? What gives? Even with Fed Ex shipping to US (my sis is working there) it is only additional USD129. |

it is a real shop, you can search on google. but with a very very bad reputation.
they do send out the items, but charge you more later. it's a shop in UK i think. their strategy is post attractive price but never told u about the warranty and other hidden cost. after you find they charge u more than the listed price, their answer is the price they listed is an export item (grey item, or reject unit), however the item they send to you is a good item with warranty so need pay more. there is no free lunch in this world. nikon control the price very well. however, D2X is dropping in other countried like Japan and China due to their population. sigh~ SG is just as easy as being ignored on the world map. |

If you look online at search engines like www.nextag.com, or other major seller listings, you'll see "seller ratings" normally by consumers...
such places like the one mentioned, together with others like "broadway photo, butterfly photo," etc etc... are normally ranked BADLY by consumers, who complain of the usual bait and switch tactic. ie:they lure u in using the low price, take your credit card number, and call u the next day to "confirm" your order. They then try to sell u "accessories" like extra batts, chargers, or stuff that should originally come with the camera. all in all, if you wanna shop online at places within the states, shop at the big guys like adorama, bhphoto, keh, dell.com (not dell.com.sg) and at times, even amazon.com I was burnt once when i bought my D1 (long ago) and ended up bargaining with the guy not to sell me anything "extra." IN the end, all they sent me was a D1 body WITHOUT anything else (chargers, batts, even body caps) in a crudely wrapped cardboard box. ended up complaining to nikon which took the case up with them. |

it is very common for that some shops quote very very good price...but its for the camera only. then they will tell you the battery is this much, the charger is this much, or it must be bundle w a lens/memory card that is so much more ex than you were to get it elsewhere. or the software is so much etc. end up you still pay the regular amount or even more.
And usually they wont send you anything until you agree to buy e rest of the parts.. |
