I need to buy a long range lens. Which is gd?
Canon F4L 70 to 200 or Sigma F2.8 70 to 200 Need input or sharpness,bokeh effect and other possible comments. Thank you in advance. |

Personally, I would go for the Canon.. In fact, it is cheaper

just search the net for reviews. can see fred miranda also http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/s...&cat=37&page=1 if it was me, i would get the sigma. 2.8 aperture gives u more flexibility, especially for indoor shooting. |

i believe the Canon 70-200 F4 is still better than the Sigma 70-200 F2.8
the Sigma at F2.8 is soft and not very usable from my experience. |

Nevertheless, my Sigma 70-200 F2.8 is quite sharp at max. aperature. Maybe I am lucky. Compare it with the canon F2.8L equivalent, then never looked back. Try reading this :http://www.pbase.com/lightrules/70200exl (this is not even the DG version) |

comparing it at F4 for both, the Canon still beats the Sigma.
i personally feel it is no point getting a F2.8 lens that is not usable at F2.8 just me. |
