I can see some of you having very sharp photos, and really admire them. Just want to find out what are canon's sharpest zoom lens around? Thanks for the tips.

The 17-40L is another superb Canon zoom. If you're looking for a prime, nothing beats the 35L. Last edited by Terence; 8th July 2006 at 05:52 PM. |

you know, besides being L, i strongly believe a well calibrated lens will give you great performance. hands down.
constant usage of even sharp lenses will eventually cause the eletronics and glass to go out of alignment....out of spec from experience...... |

Another way is probably to get decent lenses from a mix of zooms and primes, then learn to maximize its usage. This is probably a better idea in the practical sense. Not all photos can be shot with a zoom because of things such as low light etc. This is the reason why I still would opt to bring out my 50/1.8 at times too, despite having the 17-35 and 70-200. Partly because it fits in between the range, partly because it's light.
