jdredd is right, that's y i'm using 50mm f/1.8 II. If u've more money, get the 85mm f/1.8 USM, only cost around $600.

IF lenses are not that expensive for 3rd party ones like my Tamron 28-300mm, but gd to have IF if u use the polariser more often.

This is the 1st lens I buy after getting my 350D Kit. Some joker add a red rubberband to make it look like a "L" lens.

Oracle is selling at $128. Best price in Singapore.

Lens is light and easy to carry along.

Yah the 50mm is a great lens. I use the older mk-1 lens but just as good as the mk-2. Cheap n great.

can also buy on B&S for about $100... that way, when u sell, prob also can sell for around that price and lose practically nothing..

the other great thing about the 1.8, is so cheap and light, u can just throw it in the bag, no need to worry so much about it.

It's a great budget lens that produces non-budget quality. One of my favourite low-light portrait lens....

Here's a couple taken with the EF 50mm f/1.8 (Original images - unprocessed):

I think the MK1 better as its built is better. Metal mount vs the plastic mount in MK2.
