Thread: Gaffered Body Ugly?

Why not just spend $70,000 on a car, leave at home cover it up and not drive it. Hey, when the time comes to sell it you can say low mileage, perfect paint, and even the tires are not worn out. Rate it a 9 or 10, try to sell it for $68,000 2 years later. Love to see the reaction of the potential buyer.

actually i think there's nothing wrong with gaffering up the camera, it's really personal preference lor, if it's going to make the owner feel better while using the equipment i guess why not. but i don't see myself doing that lah

Indeed. I gave up long term gaffering - and I'm using gaffer tapes for holding things together short term, anything less than one day.

Probably the Gaffer Camp members would want to think about the rationale for putting the tape all over. For my usage, it doesn't make sense.

that's wonderful, good for you but you don't really need to tell us here what, it's your freedom to do what you want to your equipment, unless you are looking for some form of approval?

theres a distinction to be drawn between gaffering up and using it, and not using it....

    Nothing right or wrong, IMO.
Somebody bought a new car leave the car seat plastic bag intacted until the day he sold his car. Somebody does same thing on his expensive sound system. Wrong? At least the new owner would appreciate his hard work. hahaha

If I could, you know what I'd do?

I'd gaffer up all original signs of camera brand, stick a "Pentax" on the top, add a "EOS D200" to the side, put one "Four-Thirds" logo in one corner, "MEGA OIS" in the other.
