I've done it a few times and it works fine as long as you have a reasonably fast, stable connection.

Also, you will need to prepare about 10 Euros in calls - may not be worth it if you don't intend to use it again (compared to using your handphone from OS for short calls).

Well, I've using it for the past 6 months and they offers value of $10 and $25 Euro/USD, etc..

The quality is not that excellent, but ok only. Often the receiver could hear the "beep" sound. Oh well, what can you expect from such low cost service as compared to making international call via the conventional way - phone.

I use skypeout to make calls to landlines/mobile numbers when abroad, very good quality and cheap. Can also send SMS at much cheaper rates to a lot of different countries. The free serices also great quality. There's also a current promotion where users in the US and Canada can make free skypeout calls to within N America for free till year end.

As far as call from PC to landline or mobile, Yahoo is much cheaper than Skypes. The following e.g of calls to a mobile.

    Skypes
    -------

Taiwan - Euro 0.094 (Inc VAT) = S$0.188 per min
Malaysia - Euro 0.054 (Inc VAT) = S$0.108 per min
Thailand - Euro 0.106 (Inc VAT) = S$0.212 per min

    Yahoo
    ------

Taiwan - S$0.069 per min (no VAT)
Malaysia - S$0.069 per min (no VAT)
Thailand - S$0.079 per min (no VAT)

Yes, get Yahoo Messinger with Voice and you can start calling after u have bought credits to make call to landline or mobile. U need a phone with microphone to talk. Skypes also works the same way.

Under this site, not all calls to landline and mobile are free. Only a small percentage of countries are free; mostly landlines. For those countries you need to pay to call landline or mobile, the rates are more expensive than Yahoo.
