OK, motorcycles are not dangerous. I agree but those mainly are killed are mostly in 20+. I guess they are reckless. It's so sad to read newspaper (wanbao/xinming) everytime to see those teenagers who just got license and got killed as well..

What Michael posted is very true. Most of the time motorcyclist do not wear the proper attire to ride a bike. A bike is not like a car, which includes safety features in case an accident happens. On a bike, the rider has to get these additional equipment to ensure that he is not badly injured in an accident.

Let's face it, no matter how safe you want to be, there will be times when accident happens. An oily patch on the road can send a bike skidding if you are taking a corner.

And whats with wearing slippers or those bikers with those helmets loosely fitting the head? They are diseasters waiting to happen.

May i know where u get the stats from??

    from http://www.singstat.gov.sg/papers/snippets/traffic.html

Buses got the highest accident rate per 1000 vehicles and motorcycles is the second highest after buses.

Van accident rate is the lowest among all vehicles

Motocycle is very dangerous in the wrong hands. I have my Motocycle licence since 1983. I had ride all the way from Singapore to Penang when i was younger. If you do not keep 101% alert when riding a bike, you will be asking for trouble. Not only do you have to obey trafic rules but most important is to look out for other motorist who may break the rules. By no means should a motocyclist force hisway just because he has the right of way, you will live to regret it if you live. Be cool and just let the car or other vehicles cross yr path. Keep to yr lane and remember lorries busses and trailers have a bigger turning radius. Never overtake from the left side esp near corners.

Driving a car is also dangerous. I once nearly ramp into a trailer on the North-south highway because the trailer did not have any tail lights. Luckly I was alert and notice a dark shadow and avoided it just in time but my car was smashed against the side railing after spining a few turns. Noone was hurt but my car need $$$ to repair.

If you are tired, rest and dont drive or ride.

yah something like this just that they have it in a X junction not just a 2 way road. Oncoming cars actually slow down for other vehicles to do their 'illegal U-turns' and 'lane cuttings'. No frills no temper throwing.
