Default Clouds taken in Sengkang - 26 Jun 2006

Hi all,

Saw the lovely clouds this morning before I leave for work. Can't resist the beauty and rush back for my DSLR.

#1 Outside my house at the lift lobby of 11 floor

#2 A portrait view

#3 Taken from another side

#4 Taken just outside my door

Thanks for viewing.

Just like to share my opinion on the composition of #1 & #2.

Cloud & building is too disconnected. the empty space in between make it a neither here nor there composition. The viewer's attention is divided between the upper part (clouds) & the lower part (buildings).
Try shooting from a lower floor, so the cloud is more like a backdrop to the buildings. or even the ground floor if it is not possible from other floors, e.g. window is from a room not a common corridor.
Alternatively, a much higher floor to shoot from (or a helicopter ).

Try it, if better skies & conditions permit....e.g. time-constraint, wife, kids, dog, etc.

We always have constraints or "laziness" or "it's just a casual/ convenient shot", but if you want even better pics, the extra efforts & patience counts.

I was at the corridor of the lift lobby and rushed back into the house for the camera after seeing the cloud's formation. Guess it's becos of the rain yesterday.

Thanks for the comments. You are right! It really look quite lame.

Actually I was rushing to work. Already late for work. But just dun care and rush back for the camera. I took only 1 pic for each view and neglected the composition.

Ya bro, but I took #3 too lousy. Guess it need a real low shot.

Thanks. Glad that you like it.

This formation of the cloud is quite rare in Singapore, isn't it? (Consider that we dun often see such big piece covering the sky at one go.
