hi guys,
just like to know if it is feasible to compress CF cards to get more storage space? Apparently, the computer shows that it is possible to compress a 512MB CF card to get 790MB. anyone any ideas?? ![]() |

Don't think this is advisable. Even assuming that you can load the ROM of the digital camera with the drivers to perform decompression, the time needed to do so will increase the (already long) time to write out.

Nah... it's not worth the effort...
1) JPEG files are already compressed files... when you save as basic, normal or fine, you are already specifying the degree of compression from highest compression to best quality (that is, almost zero compression). 2) Writing wise would not be affected unless you take into account the extra time it took to compress the file. |
