Hi,
I'm a newbie diver who happen to be interested in underwater photography. Got myself a Olympus C5050Z + PT-015 set and now is thinking of adding a strobe to my setup. Due to budget constraint, i'm currently looking at probably a 2nd-hand Sea&Sea YS-90 Auto strobe after doing some research online. This is just my initial idea but i'm hoping to hear from the seasoned underwater photographers here on their advice when it come to selection and matching of the strobe with the camera setup. I'm open to other brands too. Just wish to find out more from you guys before making the investment, especially from those who have hands-on experience with both the camera(C5050Z) and various strobes available in the market(Sea&Sea, Inon, ikelite, etc). Things like performance, what to look out for when buying a strobe, etc are most welcome. Thanks in advance guys...!! Cheers, vandyk |

Im not seasoned, still newbie but here goes
![]() List of things to look out. 1. budget - more budget can get bigger more powerful ones, http://www.oceanicfocus.com have a promo for a really cheap strobe, and its good enf for more shots. 2. what u want to shoot? macro or wide - Marco i think all strobes can cater, Wide, need bigger strobes with wider angle. More bigger better!! but heavier lah C5050z works well with any strobes. its how powerful you want the strobe to be. just my 0.0005cents ![]() |

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your valuable inputs!! I have browse thru them briefly, too busy with work now. Not too good with those stats so probably will take a closer look over the weekend. Which is also why i'm interested to find out how you guys come to your final choice of strobe. Cheers, vandyk |
