Even the best digital cameras are incapable of consistently delivering accurate color without the user performing a custom white balance. Auto (AWB) and preset white balance functions often produce maddeningly inconsistent results. The ExpoCap White Balance Aid



The ExpoCap Custom White Balance Aid is an easy to use white balancing tool designed for use with fixed lens prosumer and entry-level DSLR cameras.

Amateur and enthusiast photographers wanting the most out of their digital cameras will find the ExpoCap to be a convenient and simple way to get better color at capture, straight out of the camera.

Each ExpoCap is constructed of a durable black aluminum ring mount securing an assembly of carefully selected photographic materials. It is designed to fit over the end of the lens during the custom white balance procedure, and may be quickly secured in place by means of squeezing two small buttons on the exterior of the filter ring.

What is the difference between the ExpoDisc White Balance and Warm Balance filters?

The ExpoDisc White Balance Filter is designed to be used in all photographic lighting situations where it is necessary to set a neutral white balance. It is the most versatile of the two filters. The ExpoDisc Warm Balance Filter is designed specifically with the portrait or other photographer in mind who wishes to have a slight warming effect in their final pictures. The ExpoDisc Warm Balance Filter produces a "warm" balance (versus a neutral balance) similar to what you might get using a Wratten 81A filter. Just what you need if you want to add a gentle warming effect to people portraits and natural settings.

What's the difference between the ExpoDisc and ExpoCap?

If you require your images to be neutral with accurate, true color, then the ExpoDisc is the white balance tool we recommend. Each ExpoDisc is individually hand calibrated for light transmission and neutrality to meet the standards of today's demanding professional photographers.

If, on the other hand, you simply want color that is consistently better than your camera's auto white balance features deliver, then the ExpoCap will more than meet your needs. Using the ExpoCap to set your custom white balance will produce slightly warmed, beautiful images.

The above prices are based on a 77mm filter diameter size. Please contact us for prices if you require a different filter diameter.

As a comparison, Cathay Photo’s website currently retails the ExpoDisc (77mm) for S$250.00.
