Hi,
Maybe we need that. Now is all over the forums "Hi, I am newbie here..." or "Newbie reporting...", etc. Kopitiam should be ok for it, but they don't care. I think better to give them something they think it is proper. Regards, Arto. |

Don't think it'll work. Even with a proper designated section for newbies, oldies will still go there and post "I'm a newbie too" kinda replies.

But, afterthat Admin/Moderator can move that thread to 'New member introduction' forum. Kind of moving junk mail to 'junk/bulk' from 'inbox' .Regards, Arto. |

I'm not sure how many new newbies joins CS per day, or among them, how many newbies registered would actually wish to introduce him/herself in a new thread. It could be a very small number, and that section could become a white elephant.
Instead of adding burden to the admin/mods to create and maintain a new section, wouldn't the effort be put to better use, eg to refine the BS section, and to moderate the current threads more efficiently? Trust me, it's a chore to have to go through, move, delete, and merge threads. It doesn't help when the forum resources doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the high number of simultaneous connections, especially during the peak periods. Maybe the mods like to comment, too. |

I like this proposal of setting up a subforum for new members to introduce him/her self.
It will be good if we can put all the FAQs and rules/guidelines for Clubsnap in that subforum so that they can read and understand the Do's and Don'ts when surfing Clubsnap. As for the issue about oldies who will still go there and post "I'm a newbie too" kinda replies, maybe one alternative to discourage them is to install a No Post Count policy in that subforum. Anyway, from what I observe, sometime the Newbies Corner and Kopitiam will have quite a few of these self-introduction threads. Why not streamline it so that it will be easier for other users to look for information in those 2 subforums. Just my 2 cent worth.
