Default 7D Battery Compartment Cover Issues

Hi,
I noticed the batt compartment cover of my 7D comes loose quite easily for some EastGear batt. Also the batt catch will accidentally release the batt. Seems to affect only 1 of my EastGear batt. Mayb the dimensions of the batt are out.
Does anyone have this same experience?

I'm using a Dynax 5D with east gear batteries but so far no problem. Is the catch loose? Here a diagam of the battery compartment.

same here... seems like the eastgear batteries cannot fully inserted and catch the latch. I always have to push the battery in together with the cover closed. It doesn't happened the same to my original battery or other oem battery.

Are u referring to the battery compartment on the vertical grip or the camera body? I have no problems with the vertical grip. I always used a pair of NP-400 batteries, either a pair of EG batteries or 1 original and 1 EG battery. I have never used the battery compartment on the body ever since I got the vertical grip... but if my memory serves me, when I first got the camera and started shooting without using the grip for some shots (I bought the grip and camera together), the EG battery seems to fit without any problem...

I fixed this problem by sticking a 1mm tape on the inside of the battery cover.
This will push the battery further inside the chamber and allow the locking clip to extent further for a better catch. The slight increase in tension also help to hold the battery cover lock.

yes it's same here. Eastgear doesn;t secure properly. It really annoys when I'm in the
middle of busy shooting.

thanks for the tip fastshot.

Not juz NP-400 batt but also for my Casio Exilim P&S camera also Mayb EastGear batt not as good as before...

Sidetrack: Exilim batt life is legendary. Shot 2.5GB (400+ images) and the batt only drops 1 bar on the Z850!!

Although the LCD is on all the while, the res on the screen is pretty horrible compared to the 7D's screen... so I think the energy penalty not that high... but having said that the Casio's battery life is pretty great... wonder if Sony digicams have such good battery life... anyway DSLRs not likely to have such good battery life cos of many factors...
