Unhappy any1 encounter this wif S602z?

been taking quite a no of macro n super macro shots wif S602z n realised there is always a dark patch at the bottom of the pics. strange is there is nothing on the lens, no adapter ring/filter, nothing 2 block the view, not a shadow for i tried all angles etc etc

a sample of the dark patch can smebody pls advise if tis is norm wif S602z?

Its just shadow cast from your flash blocked by the lens.

even if flash is not being used? in fact, i can c the dark shadow on the LCD screen as long as i used macro/super macro in the nite irregardless of the location i used the digicam in

From the picture, it looks like the light source is from behind and slightly above the cam. In this case, yes, the shadow is really from the camera's lens barrel.

do u see it b4 a shot or after? really looks like a lens shadow cos ur lens is too long blocking some of the flash for closeup shots...

cute hamsters, got any to sell?

in fact, i can c it on the LCD screen b4 i took the shots n it only happens wen i used macro/super macro in the nite

if the lens r too long, wat can i do 2 make it better? i meant the length of the lens is fixed rite?

oh yeap in fact these 2 babies r the ones i wana sell, will PM u more details abt it
You will either need a macro flash or a slave flash that's positioned elsewhere. A cheaper solution is to bounce a flash with a card.

could you try to take pictures outdoors and see if the shadow is still there? It doesn't make sense that the shadow of the barrel INSIDE would be taken..

The shadow is due to your extended lens.
Trust me, I've been taking pics of hamsters too

If possible, take from a higher angle, like this:

Btw, pls do not fire the flash straight into those little furry furries' eyes. You might blind them
