Default Military nature

These pictures suffer from some DOF problems I feel. But looking at them, seems that I can compile a story.

#1 He approach carefully, prodding slowly into enemie's territory

#2 His companion moves in even carefully tip toeing. (do they have toes?), thin brown line

#3 Hey scout, keep a lookout for me using your bino, any bombs or traps around?

#4 All seems clear, go ahead, the scouts have layed out the route using water.

#5 Alright guys, lets go...wait, BLAST...One friendly spider blasted by mine explosion!!!!

#6 We the grasshopper will lead the way.

#7 But the enemy scout is watching from high ground

#8 We reach a cross junction, where shall we go?

#9 Shall we follow the ridgeline?

#10 Or down the tunnel?

#11 Wait, is that the trail left behind by the enemy's tank?

#12 Wait, I see movement...duh, its just a fallen leaf

#13 I see their cannon now..looks powerful

#14 And their defence wall is so strong

#15 Shall we send in some moles to check on them?

#16 We shall send in our strongest weapon, the adult hopper!

#17 that will give us a Glimpse of HOPE and LIGHT! There, our luck angel with blazing tail

#18 The enemy is bending over in fear now!

#19 Their trooper got trapped in our concertina wire and bubble wrap....

#20 We Won......and we won ourself the ELIXIR of LIFE...Shall we rejoice and live for eternity!

Hope you guys enjoy this series of nonsensical blabbering from a deranged mind...bored on a saturday night.

I feel its nice to have an interesting tale behind the pictures, even though the original pictures were unrealted. Gives a better feel, then just posting a picture.

realised you haven't finished with the story

anyway i like 3, 5 and 7 ... 3 is really good, but i would prefer to 'level' the eyes along a straight horizontal line and reduce the top space slightly ... i really like the lighting and composition, totally my cup of milo

Bro eikin,

Thanks. I know what you mean on #3. hehe. Now that you mentioned, indeed, the eye is not level haha didnt realise. Yah, cropping away the top space will make the picture not so centered.

#5 the explosion is mimicked by DOF. and the spider's position made it looks as if it was flying off..hehee.took it then realised.

Yah nikon system.

I dont even have a external flash. How to do creative lighting system. hehe. Looking forward to getting a SB600 soon. Then can play some creative using D70s as commander. hehe create a halo to no 3...=)

All taken with tripod, some without, and mostly without flash.

Only one shot, #7 I think is with built in flash to fill in as background was too bright.

not sure about SB600, i have been using SB800 for CLS, it's really easy to setup, just change pop up flash to commander mode and external flash to slave mode and you can put the flash anywhere you like ... haven't had much chance to do insect macros with CLS in Japan, here's an example from sometime back in Singapore http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=182003

from the lighting of your works, i'm sure you'll love CLS

Nice series. Personally I like # 1, 5 & 19.

Feel that 1 & 19 might be better with more DOF. I like #5 too, but find that the explosion is fighting for attention.

Is all these beautiful photos taken within one day? If you took all these in one day than I really envy you.

Bro,

I agree on the DOF issue. hehe. I addressed this in my first post liaoz.
Also, the explosion yah..like 2 subject. But I kinda like it this way.

As for taking these pictures. They are taken over 4 outings. And I just happened to look at my flickr gallery and hmmz...lets make a story today. hehe.

Anyway. I have some more but due to high uploading rates in flickr, they got pushed out....So the story ended quite abruptly..I feel.
