i had a zoom lens fr a friend.. but i realise the the part u rotate to zoom in is a bit stiff, zooming out is ok. is there any way to smoothen it? or is it normal? should i send to service center to repair? Thanks for helping!!! Cheers! ![]() |

My Tamron 24-135mm lens has a very stiff zoom ring - for a good purpose. It has a heavy front element and if the zoom ring is not stiff enough, there may be "zoom creep", i.e. it extends itself due to gravity when you point it down.
So don't worry about having a stiff zoom ring, and it's better than having zoom creep. |
