Here is the announcement from their website: "Closure of Retail Store! Please kindly note that we no longer operate a retail store and all orders are only conducted online. Thank you."

I am using SAnyo 2500s, obtained from the exchange around December last year.

I was under the impression that even these new ones cannot hold a charge, as I used then with the Sanyo refresh charger overnight. After a full charge, using them to power a Sanho Compactdrive still returned a 'lo batt' warning, and it couldn't even initiate a copy to hard disk.

Then I tried the same cells with my old Rayovac 1 hour charger (that one that produces intense amounts of heat).

After 1 hour of charging, these cells powered 10 cycles of 1gb copying in the same compactdrive.

Could there be a problem with the Sanyo charger?

No bro.. The Sanyo 2500mah really have problems(mainly not holding charge). You can do a search on it. But its ok, now they have an exchange centre located around herren shops there. Hopethis helps you.
