Default [alan] a photo a week 2006

After spending so much time on the equipment forums, I think I better start to post some pictures. Maybe it will inspire me to take more pictures rather than letting my gear rot in the dry cabinet.

Hopefully can get some useful criticism too from the regulars here.

For my maiden pic,

Jungle

no lah, the trees are very tall or I hoped they would look taller if I used a really wide lens.

Trying out my 12-24 tokina at bishan park

Anyway, here is another picture I took sometime back. That day's sunrise was really nice but I did not have my 12-24 yet so I couldn't capture the whole scene.

thanks knoxknocks and wiz23 for your kind comments.

Anyway the colors are not PSed, only did some level adjustment to add in contrast.

thanks for the kind comments

I decided to take a look at my old vacation shots and do some PS to them.

here is one of them of the Vatican. Never done any B&W b4. Is it underexposed?

The color version of the rome photo. I thought there was too much distraction in the colored version

canew,
for your kind comments.

Cheesecake,
lower pierce reserviour? The problem about sunrise and sunset is that the chances of getting great light is quite rare. I look out of my window every morning but very seldom do I see spectacular sunrise.

another pic of the week.

My niece pretty huh? This pic is only sharpened a bit. No level editing, no other ps work.
