Default Camera Shake icon

Hi,

I am a s602Z newbie user here. Bought the cam yesterday only. I played with my cam but i noticed that the "camera shake" icon was shown all the time even when i place it on the table. Is this normal or issit a problem with my camera.

Thanks You

It's NOT trying to tell you the camera is shaking. It's merely warning you that there may not be sufficient light, and the thus a slow shutter speed (prone to handshake) has been selected automatically.

Regards

the shake icon is just to warn you that there is a chance of camera shake if u continue taking the shot, because the shutter speed is too slow for the focal length you are using. Thus no matter where you put your cam, the icon will always appear as long as your shutter speed is too slow. It's just a warning, doesn't mean that you'd definitely get a blur shot.

many others have been puzzled by it before.

You don't really need to overcome this problem 'coz if the camera will not be shaken when capturing the shot, the shot will turn out nice and sharp.

If you're not taking scenery, i.e taking objects/people, then you might want to use the flash.

I just bought a A203. Night shots without flash or with suppressed flash is damn blur. The hand icon keeps appearing.

Taking scenary of night scenes (The Merlion at the Singapore River) is practically an impossible task. even when i place the camera on a bench and take the pic with timer. ALL the pics i took are very blur. Is it something i didn't do or set correctly or is it with the camera? Camera limitations or Defective camera?

does ur camera have a sharpening option? put it to normal or hard/high. Practice getting the right focus also.. do you notice that probably a few elements in your picture looks sharp? that's where the focus is.

how to get the right focus? I used the AF/AE lock, sometimes i'll get pics with very clear and sharp foreground, but blur background. then sometimes i get everything blur, fore and back grounds.

If you can post the pics, it'll be easier for us to see where you went wrong.

u should see in ur LCD whether ur subject is clear or not when u half lock focus. for 1st situation, it's normal DOF effect. for 2nd situation, it's due to ur cam totally OOF.

AE lock is not for focus, it's for exposure lock.

Sounds like a focussing problem.
