I guess we all have to wait for proper reviews first, huh?

When will they hit our shores, any indications?

Better to save money for new lenses. 5D is still a good cam.

no, i will switch 2 other brands, since sony dun have it own design. KM is not merge with sony, is sony buy over them, So sony should came with a new design. I would wait 4 pentax K100, at least is their own design.

What do you mean by Sony not having their own design? Do you mean that the new A100 is not Sony's own design or you want Sony to change to a new lens mount?

personally speaking, I prefer Sony to keep the KM design, as it's ergonomics is comfortable and make sense A lot of KM designs were good also, unless Sony can make it better (e.g. longer battery life, better screen) I don't see any reason for changing other.

I had a great relief when I saw Sony didn't change it DSLR design like R1 or other shape

Actually, a lot of things have been changed by Sony in this A100 as can easily be seen from the detailed specifications. In addition, some of the good things from Minolta have been retained.

It makes no sense, except for ego reasons, to change everything just for the sake of having a whole brand new design.

I wan Sony 2 change the design because i wan everyone know no one can take over KM. If Sony use back the same design, next time ppl will not remember KM anymore the only thing they know is Sony. Actually the AS fuctions is design by KM, and now the name change 2 SSS. (sony steady shot) Minolta die hard.

anyway, back to the topic. For me, i do not need the better "specs" of 7D so if A100 review turns out really well and better the KM5D in important areas, it will be a painful and excruciating exercise (to part with $$$)

I think it is best till a full review on the camera is done before we make any purchase.

Er, this is a Sony (formerly Konica-Minolta) camera. Their latest DSLR.

I think you're thinking Canon, yes?

Don't fix what's not broken. So far the A100 in terms of handling and usability seems to be better compare to the KM5D, in my opinion. Functions/handling that has work well in the KM5D is retain in the A100.
