I believed it's more meant for wireless printing for non IT inclined ppl.
Quite a useless feature for me. |

Allows you to transfer images directly to a Wi-fi enabled laptop or PC, bypassing the memory card. I believe you can print directly as well if your printer is connected to the network.
Wi-fi for consumer digicams is a gimmick more than a practical tool. Its slow... dead slow, unless you're transferring just 1 image. Shooting to a card and downloading, even by connecting your camera to the pc, is much faster. The only Wi-fi that I feel is feasible are the wi-fi modules attached to professional dSLRs. They have decent transfer speeds and are a viable alternative.... at a cost. So until their technology trickles down to consumers, I'll give wi-fi consumer cams a miss. |

I will be happy if my cam have one as I hate to remove and insert the CF card so frequently
Another practical use will be in studio.....I saw one opposite Msian high com....he uses a DSLR to take passport size portrait and basically he swap the CF card after each shots to download to PC and do post process...after that print it out on a bublejet printer.....like that the card slot will wear and tear quite fast ![]()
