Hi people, here are some more table table shots, taken over the weekends at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. I made some adjustments to my shooting, hope the effort paid off.
1. The 5th South-East Asia Table Tennis Championship took place in Singapore at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall on 24 to 28 May 06. The biannual event saw over 70 players representing 8 nations. ![]() 2. The coaches observe their players and opponents from the side. Majority of the coaches, even those employed by chinese minority countries, are from China. ![]() 3. Lim Pei Xin of Singapore hitting a big back hand return. New faces don the Singapore color in this year's SEA table-tennis championship. Pei Xin narrowly missed out qualifying from the round robin stage. ![]() 4. Players with their coaches during the intervals ![]() Last edited by actionman; 1st June 2006 at 11:36 PM. |

5. Zhang Xue Ling with a backhand return. Xue Ling is the biggest winner of the championship with golds coming from the Women's team, singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.
![]() 6. Zhang Xue Ling ![]() 7. Zhang Xue Ling ![]() 8. Like Xue Ling, this young fan was also a big winner of the day. Her prizes: an autograph on her bat's case and a big handshake from her idol. ![]() |

9. Singapore's Cai Xiao Li judges the ball's trajectory during the round of 16 for the Men's Single event.
![]() 10. Cai Xiao Li reacts to a short play ![]() 11. Tan Paey Fern slices a backhand return. Tan adopts this unusual defensive style of play in table-tennis which is made even more effective by occassional unexpecting counter attacks. ![]() 12. Singapore's Tan Paey Fern rues the loss of a point. Despite turning 32 this year, Tan showed that age is not a limiting factor as she beat many younger and fitter opponents to reach the women's single final. ![]() Last edited by actionman; 2nd June 2006 at 06:24 AM. |

13. Singapore's Yang Zi
![]() 14. Yang Zi serving the ball during during a group match against Muhd Shakirin Ibrahim of Malaysia ![]() 15. Yang Zi reacts after securing another hard fought point in the Men's Single event. Yang eventually avenged Singapore's loss to Vietnam in the Men's team final by overcoming Doan Kien Quoc and Tran Tuan Quynh in the final and semi-final respectively. Singapore won 6 golds out of a possible 7, making it the best result ever achieved in the championship history. ![]() Last edited by actionman; 1st June 2006 at 09:45 PM. |

thanks for the encouragement
Stanly >> yup i agree with you. Tan Paey Fern has shown that she is one of the best in the region. I feel that this is mainly due to training with our foreign talents which brings up the standard of our local players. |
