T-90 is a great lens and Alex, you put it in good use. One N105 can buy 2x T90...

send me a link and I'll see if i can figure it out.

No diffuser on pop up flash, but flash ev changed to either -0.3 or -0.7 (depends on subject) sometimes more for white subjects.

    Shoot more

My flora shots cannot match your standard, so we are even.
    Yo Bro,

Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking of it whole this morning...seriously..even when I working. How come my T90 and same body cant achieve what you can do. Then I realise, its like what you say. The angle of view. hehe. I am always trying to go parallel to subject. So that will not allow me to see that narrow line. If I slightly adjust higher a little, I still can get the subject within DOF and see the thin line =) Thanks for further enlightenment.

As for the flash, I think you did a great job. Will try it out soon as I have yet to get an external flash unit. So maybe ev-0.7 to try it out.

Shoot more, I will. But time is the limiting factor. =) Will definitely try to get the razor thin slice you have if I have the time to shoot. =)

    Regards,
    tltan

the minimum focusing distance of this lens is 11.4"

    So I would say I was around 5" - 7" away

    Ortega,

Can you explain further about this "Thin DOF: it could be due to the angle of view".

    Thanks

Wow looks like a good lens to consider soon.. might be good for portraits too. But the DOF looks really very thin..

if the camera is perpendicular to the subject
then the thin line of DOF cannot be seen

but if you position the camera slightly above and tilt down slighty
you will be able to see it.

I hope that is clear, try it

Like I always say, love the use of thin DOF. #6 is the best! How many shots did you take for that guy?

Good lens + good person behind camera = great shots

I still cant master this great lens with my 350D. or was it my eyes or shaky hands?

Unfortunately, no. Different species. But the species of the caterpillar that you shot is a nicer butterfly though - Common Mime. When the cat that you shot completes its pupation, the pupa will look something like a broken twig and sticks out at an angle to its perch, and well camouflaged.
