I'm deciding on a portable media player, where I can vew my photos, videos and hear some music.I am stuck between the Creative Zen Vision (30GB) and Vosonic VP8360 MultiMedia Viewer (80GB) .
Vosonic VP8360 MultiMedia Viewer (80GB) SGD$659.00 (From EastGear's website) Creative Zen Vision (30GB) SGD$699 (Saw in today's Digital Life) I have not found any reviews of the Vosonic VP8360 yet,So I hope that users and owners of the Vosonic VP8360 can come and have your say on the product,so that it can help me and others to make a decision. |

I got the Vosonic Multimedia Viewer (120GB) from EastGear recently at their promo price. Tried it for a couple of days; quite a nifty viewer indeed. Speedwise, there's no noticeable lag when downloading pics from card and when running applications (movies, slideshow etc). File transfer (when used as an external hard disk) is zippy too. The LCD, though not extremely sharp, is acceptable for general viewing of photos and movies.
I haven't tried the Zen Vision so there's no way I can do a comparison. Check with EastGear if it's possible for them to offer you the promo price ($639 for 120GB) if you intend to get it. Cheers! ![]() |

The main advantage for Zen Vision over VP8360 is the 640x480 vs 320 x 240 screen, but hear that the viewing angle not very wide though, can't read RAW files and quite a bit of limitation on file transfer.
I think you have to view/handle both than decide, the coming show in Suntec this weekend will be a good chance.

Try P-2000 Multimedia Storage Viewer. I believe is still the best viewer now but it is costly.

depends on your needs. if you want to use it as a pure media player then go for one with a good 640x480 screen. if you are looking for portable storage with media capabilties, then the v8360 is value for money.

I have a Cerative Zen Vision. As times goes by... the photos in the folder inside the hdd will take longer to 'open' when viewing or scrolling thru... tat is the situation with my set.

Another brand to check out at the PC show is Consus (Booth 1653). Their 3.6" Portable Media Player+Recorder seems to boast similar (if not better) specs that the Vosonic VP8360. Going for $499 (not sure what size is the HDD that comes with it though).

Agree totally.
I used one my brother bought from HK for about SGD6xx. It's really a DSLR hobbyist god-send - don't seem to see any products out there that can read NEFs. It's even able to display adjusted/edited D200 NEFs. When I saw at the recent PC show where Vosonic was selling at about the same price, and yet still can't handle D200 - I might consider this no-brand if I'm on a very tight budget and it's selling at SGD300 !!
