What do you think the 2nd hand KM lens price after the new Sony DSLR come out?

Do you think it will generate more demands and will cause increase in 2nd hand lens pricing/value? Or new Sony or Zeiss lens or lens with SSM will cause old lens price to crash?

Look at what KM5D did to the KM old lens.. (those popular lens.. beercan, 135mm f2.8.. and more)
With Sony DSLR.. the only way the price will go is UP..
I expect the % of new A-mount users will double.. but the old lens qty is the same..
The only thing that will go up is PRICE.. so BBB now.

Price already high with the current demand. With new users coming on board it will go higher. Unless those new users do not know that KM lens can be used on the ALPHA.

That's what I think also, but on the other hand, with possibly the newer lens come out the with SSM, although they will tend to be more expensive, not sure they will push down the price of the none SSM version? Although I don't see the 80-200mm f/2.8 price dropping as they price the 70-200mm SSM too expensive. Wonder Sony will maintain tht kind of practive (price SSM lenses more expensive) or not?

hmm....the best thing that can happen is no SSM. imagine..... a SSM that is intergrated into the body. cool.......can even adjust the focusing limit from the body. hahaha.....fat thought i think.

body can not do everything. ssm is a must have for some lenses. but for others, maybe not necessary.

Unfortunately most think that Sony is not supporting the A-Mount when in actual fact they are.

depends on what lenses sony releases...

e.g. if they rebadge the tamron 17-50 f2.8, then quite likely the price of 17-35 f2.8-4 will drop. if they release a 70-210 f4 ssm, then the beercan price will drop. if got nothing similar, then the beercan price may go up instead.

and if they release G lenses again, then all those crazy ebay prices for 17-35G and 70-200G will return to normal...

if got such thing as 70-210 f4 ssm i guess will be quite ex lah, look at the canon 70-200 f4L. but i think people may still buy, cos lighter than the f2.8 version. part of the reason beercan is so popular is that there are no equivalent new lenses.

not sure if the street price for the 17-50 will be so high lah. cos then people will just buy the tamron/sigma/tokina versions... the pricing will have to be just a bit above those...

One thing for sure.. KM7D camera price is going down.. wonder if it's worth upgrading from KM5D to 7D since now the price on the camera is so so very cheap..

If the price different is not too big, I think better wait for the Alpha 100 for a bit more new features .
